Sharjah is the third largest of the seven emirates that make up the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and is the only one to have land on both the Arabian Gulf Coast and the Gulf of Oman. The race in Sharjah Kalid Lagoon is a well-known part of the F1H2O tour and returned now the 7th time., but for the first time both events of the Sharjah Championship week – the F1 H2O final race and the Aquabike World Championship final event – took place in the same weekend. The water in Kalid Lagoon is very sticky and brackish and the sun will flash the drivers during the afternoon hours. The qualification session turned out to be very dramatic, as needed to set the position for the final race of the year and also deciding for the World Championship 2018. In the end, after Erik Stark giving a perfect race and became winner of GP of Sharjah 2019, it was enough points on the 3rd place for American Shaun Torrente to claim his first ever F1 World Championship title.
