A peek into past! This racetrack sculpture depicts the layout of now-defunct/former Ontario Motor Speedway located in Ontario, California, US. It was the first and only automobile racing facility built to accommodate major races sanctioned by all of the four dominant racing sanctioning bodies. Opened in August 1970 and was considered state of the art at the time. The 24 km track was built as a replica of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, complete to its rectangular oval configuration and its low banking in the turns. It was closed in 1980 and demolished later to make way for commercial projects. Some notable events under its belt are USAC Championship Car California 500 (1970–1978), CART Championship Car California 500 (1979–1980), National Hot Rod Association, among others.
